Bed skirt

I don’t really remember how we came up with this idea but I love it! I know were originally planning on having the entire bottom made from the chevron material. Luckily for my husband we didn’t have enough. He is not a big fan of the chevron. Good thing this is the spare bedroom. Image may be NSFW.

:)

What you will need:

  • bed skirt
  • 2 12″ pieces of fabric
  • 1 37″ piece of fabric

I don’t have a lot of pictures of this project. I will try to explain everything as best I can but if you have any questions please ask!

We ironed the sides down on the chevron fabric. Depending on what look you are looking for you can also sew them.

We did not iron the sides down on the polka dot fabric. The sides will be hidden.

You can do this the no sew way (see how here) but we didn’t this time. We already had the sewing machine out for the pillows (see that tutorial here) so it was just as easy for us to sew them. Sew the top and bottom pieces of each fabric.

Place the bed skirt on the box spring.

Lay the polka dot fabric on top of the bed skirt in the center. This is where the length will come into play. You can not see the other side of my bed so to save money we only had the polka dot and chevron pieces long enough to drape down one side.

Lay one of the pieces of chevron fabric on the right side of the polka dot fabric and the other piece on the left side. The chevron pieces need to overlap the polka dot piece.
