Initial Picture Frame

I have tons of picture frames and I am always trying to figure out what to do with them. We don’t have kids yet so putting random pictures around the house of just us seems a little conceited and over bearing. I seen this idea and thought I would give it a try.

What you will need:

  • Picture frame
  • Burlap
  • Hot glue gun
  • Initial or letters
  • Scrap paper
  • Printer

Initial Picture Frame Supplies

Plug in your hot glue gun to get it warmed up and ready to go. Open your picture frame and take the backing out. Most picture frames have some kind of thick cardboard in the back. That is what we are going to use to glue the burlap on. Reminder: you can paint your picture frame whatever color you desire. Just spray paint it. Cut your burlap to fit around the cardboard. Make sure you leave enough to wrap around it and hot glue the burlap to the cardboard.

Be careful with the hot glue gun. I think I say this in every post that involves the hot glue gun and I’m pretty sure the cops wouldn’t be able to identify me from my finger prints. Take your cut out letter. I used my cricut to cut it out. Hot glue it onto the burlap where you want it. Print out your date onto the scrap piece of paper. Cut it out to size and hot glue. (Tip: If your scrap paper is not a regular size paper and your printer is being stubborn and wont print it, tape it to a regular size paper and it should print it then.)

Let it cool down for a few minutes and place back into the frame.  Voila! Cute and simple, add to any room picture frame! Would be really cute for a baby’s room too! But their initials on it and the date they were born.
